Gegründet wurde die international erfolgreichste Metallband im Oktober 1981. Bis heute haben sie über 100 Millionen Alben verkauft und stürmten mit jedem einzelnen sämtliche Charts weltweit! Sie haben 7 Grammys, etliche Music Awards und viele andere Preise gewonnen.

Mit ihrem brandaktuellen Album haben sie uns 5 Jahre auf die Folter gespannt. Immer wieder gingen sie dazwischen auf „Escape of the Studio Tourneen“, um sich gleich danach wieder in die Hände von Rick Rubin zu begeben, der schon als Produzent von System of a Down und den Red Hot Chilli Peppers wahre Meisterleistungen vollbracht hat! Und es hat sich gelohnt. Selbst Menschen, deren Metallica-Kenntnisse sich bis dato auf Klassiker wie „Seek And Destroy“, „Nothing Else Matters“ und „Enter Sandman“ begrenzt hat, können sich vor diesem fantastischen neuen Werk nicht verstecken.
In den USA hat das soeben erschienene „Death Magnetic“ sämtliche Verkaufsrekorde gebrochen und auch in Europa schlägt es ein wie eine Bombe. Dieses Album kann man nicht einfach nur runterladen, man muss das Original in Händen halten. Und wenn man sich dann irgendwann, viel viel später mal, daran satt gehört zu haben scheint, dann gibt man diesem edlen Werk einen besonderen Platz in der eigenen CD Sammlung. Es geht gar nicht anders!

Zu einem so besonderen Album gehört natürlich eine ganz besondere Tour und Live-Umsetzung!
Und genau die steht uns nächstes Jahr am 14. Mai 2009 ins Haus bzw. in die Wiener Stadthalle! Und diesmal dürfen wir uns auf ein keineswegs alltägliches Konzerterlebnis freuen! Metallica werden sich auf einer sogenannten Centerstage präsentieren. Wie der Name schon sagt, befindet sich die Bühne in der Mitte der Halle und bietet Einblick von allen Seiten. Somit haben noch mehr Fans die Gelegenheit James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett und Robert Trujillo so nah wie möglich zu kommen.

Look for us on May 14 at Stadthalle with tickets going on sale on October 20 at 9 AM local time and once again, our good friends The Sword and Machine Head will be joining us. We'll post a link to ticket sales here as soon as we get it. The Met Club presale begins on Friday, October 17 at 12:01am Pacific time and ends on October 19 at 11:30pm Pacific time. Each member can purchase up to four tickets.

@norbinho: let's hope that the Munich date is during the weekend, or at least during the (Easter?) Holidays, there's much space in April IMO. großes Grinsen

I just hope there will be no exam right after the Vienna date or the Munich date which still has tba, but I guess that the 14th May is OK for me.
