I'm still awake after watching the whole election at the homepages of Standard and CNN, and I'm so glad that the USA has taken the absolute right decision. Someone has written that this might be our generation's moonlanding, we'll see what these 4 or hopefully 8 years bring.
My best moment was definately when CNN suddenly declared Obama as the projected winner of Ohio (at around 3:30) and when I started to calculate that it's a safe win if you added the already projected states (almost 200 electorals I think) and the 3 deeply democratic states on the pacific and that he would definately get the 270 mark!!!!!!! I started to smile so much, and this beer I enjoyed really tasted like change!
And I must admit that despite off all my political differences with him, John McCain did a great speech in front of his fans, he's definately a fair loser. And to those few damn hardcore conservatives that booed McCain during the most honest moments at the beginning of his speech: f... you, you would deserve a president who is much more liberal, socialist, muslim (or whatever you're afraid of and what you portrayed Obama) president than you can ever imagine.
j/k
I'm tired now, so good night (after that great night).

I'm glad, that Obama won, too
I think that America is not really governed by the president, history showed us, that there are some other mighty people with a shit load of money behind the scenes, who are pulling the strings.
I hope that Obama is able to establish himself as a real leader and he's not a fuckin' marionette of someone else.

Yeah i know what you mean, they have a big cabinet of people that lead the country, but because the democrats won, most of those people also will be democrats..it's obvious not one man alone can lead such a big country. But it is good that the democrats won, the period under Bill clinton showed that better things are possible than those happening in the bush era the past 8 years.
