Metallica have been forced to delay the release of their new album. Again. Originally scheduled for this month, their ninth studio album was pushed backed to April. Hammer was then given a vague "summer" as its final release date, but now we shouldn't expect to hear the album until as late as September.
The reason behind the delay isn't known, but as the band revealed, "There is nothing new to report. Work is continuing and all is good in the 'hood. As soon as we heave something new to report, you'll be the first to know! We'll take as long as we need."

I read that a few weeks ago also on some other website and in the german metal hammer, but i think it's nothing official. The band themself didn't say anything about a september release, so let's wait and bleed.

Given the fact, they're going on tour this summer, I don't think we have to wait until September
