Metallica is in the middle of working on their new album, but the band is keeping the details about the record close to the vest. However, in an interview with Rolling Stone , bassist Robert Trujillo did use a word to describe the album that will surely please Metallica fans: "heavy."

"I can tell you that what we're doing sounds heavy," Trujillo says.

When asked if he would compare to Metallica's last release, 2008's Death Magnetic , Trujillo says he "can't relate it to any album."

"I think every Metallica album is unique in its own way," he adds. "What we're doing is special and unique in its own way, but still keeping it heavy."

Perhaps Metallica will break out some of that heavy new material when they play Rock in Rio USA or Lollapalooza this summer.

Meanwhile, Trujillo's film Jaco , a documentary about legendary bass player Jaco Pastorius , will headline the inaugural Asbury Park Music in Film Festival , which will be held in Asbury Park, New Jersey, from April 10 to April 12.
