Doors are open and today's festival is about to start! First up is Hawk Eyes at 2. Followed by Three Days Grace, We Are Harlot, Gojira, Meshuggah, Faith No More, and Metallica will go on around 9:30.

Metal Militia just finished here at Sonisphere Italy. Before that we had Fuel (which hadn’t been performed in Milan in 16 years!) and Bellz. Song 4, King!

You guessed it, Sad has been played at every show in Milan since November 17, 1992, and that song is just ending here. Before that we had Disposable, Un2, Cyanide, and L.O.S. Frayed is next!

Tonight ended with Creep, Nothing, and Sandman. This was the 7th time that Sandman was perfomed in Milan. Full setlist is up, pics to come.....

This was our 11th visit to Milan, Italy. We first visited Milan on February 5, 1984 it was only the second time we had played in Europe! We were last in Milan on July 6, 2011 during our European tour with The Big 4.

The set kicked off with Fuel which, believe it or not, hadnt been performed in Milan in 16 years! The songs only performance in Milan was on June 5, 1999 at the Gods of Metal festival.

For Whom the Bell Tolls followed, being played for the ninth time here in this Italian city. Bellz has had a pretty good track record in Milan being performed here in late 84, 87, 88, 92, twice in 96, 99 and 11.

Its been nearly 31 years since Metal Miltiia was played in Milan. It was last performed here on November 27, 1984.

King Nothing was up next. Like Fuel, King hadnt been performed in Milan in 16 years, last being played here in 1999.

Disposable Heroes has only had the luck of being performed in Milan once before. It was previously played here on June 22, 2009 during the World Magnetic tour.

Four out of the next five songs were played for the first time in Milan. The Unforgiven II, Cyanide (really!), Lords of Summer and The Frayed Ends of Sanity all had not been performed here prior to todays show. Sad But True was the staple that fell in between these four songs as you could probably guess, Sad has been played at every show in Milan since November 17, 1992.

The back half of the set were all tried and true setlist staples. Fade to Black rotated into the slot before Seek and Destroy. Out of the last eight songs, Fight Fire with Fire had been played in Milan the least (four times 84, 86, 99 and 09) and Master of Puppets & Creeping Death had been played in Milan the most (eight times).

We performed 17 songs off of eight albums and one non-album track: Kill Em All (2), Ride the Lightning (4), Master of Puppets (2), And Justice for All (2), Metallica (3), Load (1), Reload (2), Death Magnetic (1), Non-Album Tracks (1)
