  The Big 4 DVD Release [ 8/24/2010 ]

quote:
You may have heard us say something about a DVD at the end of the satellite broadcast or read it in the internet rumor mill . . . it's true, there will be a DVD release of the Big 4 show from Sofia, Bulgaria!! We had such an awesome time hanging with Anthrax, Megadeth and Slayer and the cameras were already rolling, so why not?

Here's the scoop: The DVD hits the streets on October 15 in Northern Europe, October 18 in most of the rest of the world, October 19 in North America and the full shows from all four bands will be included in the two disc set along with behind the scenes and interview footage. In addition to the two DVD set and the corresponding Blu-ray, there will be a limited edition "super deluxe" box set including the DVD set, five CD's with ALL the music, a 24 page booklet, a poster, photos of each band, and a Big 4 guitar pick.

The clever title of the DVD is "The Big 4 Live From Sofia, Bulgaria" (yes, that's really it!!) and you if you're interested in the box set, we'll have a pre-order in the MetStore for you shortly. And as always, keep watching here for more details, a preview of the cover, etc., etc.

Bloody awesome, that everything will be included!

Honestly, I prefer the original white one. Btw, I have one großes Grinsen
But the price is not that good. Around 100 bucks traurig

Posted by metalandi on 26.08.2010 at20:16:

Yeah, pretty expensive. But i guess i won't get this anyway, cause i can't afford it right now, and also, i can't buy anything off the metstore, since they still just accept credit card and no paypal Augen rollen

Posted by metalandi on 26.08.2010 at22:24:

I've just found this, here the box is much, much cheaper geschockt (but of course you don't get the guitar pick set with it there, that's exclusive to metstore orders)

http://store.universal-music.co.uk/euro/invt/0602527477787?_lm_esp=2-45-124

Edit: i just recognized you actually onoly get ONE of these picks with the order, not all 4

Posted by Dinx on 27.08.2010 at14:57:

yeah its really too expensive for a dvd set

Posted by metalandi on 27.08.2010 at15:30:

Well the deluxe version actually is 2 DVD's, 5 CD's , a 24 page booklet, a poster, photos of each band, and a big 4 guitar pick. But 100 Bucks is still too much. And then you would have to pay almost 40 dollars for shipping aswell if you order it in the metstore, and not even talking about the taxes, when you finally receive it.

I think i'll just be getting the normal 2 dvd set once it's in the stores.

I know it's fuckin' expensive, but this time I can't resist großes Grinsen

...and don't forget that there will be a FANCAN IV.... Augenzwinkern

Posted by damageinc on 03.09.2010 at10:33:

Yeah, even though it will be Fan Can VI. großes Grinsen

I'm more excited about FC6 and will buy it for sure!

Finally here's the first picture of the boxset. Looks a little computer-generated though, but i guess that's about how the real thing looks like.

hehehe, seems so, zoltan großes Grinsen

i'm already excited about metallica and slayer...megadeth will look and sound like crap...already had to watch their gig in the cinema unglücklich

Posted by metalandi on 18.09.2010 at20:08:

Well, the sound will certainly be much better than the cinema verison, obviously. Also, i'm pretty sure there will be overdubs on dave's voice, pretty much every megadeth dvd so far had overdubs on the vocals. But you can't say anything against them instrumentally, they are very tight live. The vocals are not everyone's deal i know, but instrumentally there really are no faults imo

in your words i can read you totally like them, andi...megadeth has some really great songs, but live they totally suck...their stage performance is soooooo boring (dave just standing there and looking down on his guitar) and hearing dave singing live is horrible!!

Posted by metalandi on 18.09.2010 at20:23:

Yes i like them, but i understand that some people don't like dave and how he acts and also that he isn't the best live singer. Was just saying, that just from the instrumental point, they are very tight live.

yep, you are right although i would say their last good album was youthanasia...well, 2-3 songs on cryptic writings are also great, especially trust smile

I second that, but Bernd is right. I like them, too, but the live performance in Sofia was just horrible. As Megadave climbed the stage I went to get myself a beer to get through the rest of the set.
