  The Sword about Metallica

Miami New Times recently did an interview with drummer Trivett C. Wingo of The Sword who toured with Metallice earlier this year.

How did you get on the Metallica tour?
We got on that pretty much because Metallica and especially Lars are big Sword fans. We've kind of been befriended by Lars, so I'm sure he was interested in booking us on all these dates. We just did Europe with them.

How did you hear that Lars Ulrich was a fan of your band?
That was a very interesting rumor we heard. When we finally met Lars, and it was all confirmed that it was, in fact, true. It's flattering. He came out to a show in San Francisco, and he came out and watched the set and wanted to hang out and chit-chat. He also told us that Metallica wanted us to come on tour with them.

What was it like playing for rabid Metallica fans?
It was awesome, Metallica fans are people of taste, so they like The Sword. Those were the biggest shows we've played.

I actually like them. I saw them first at the gig in Bologna, but I've already purchased their latest album

Before Bologna's show I was "Sword who?"; after the show I was "Sword? Good!".
