This is a great Exodus recording from a time when Zetro had just joined them. The entire BBB album is played,
as well as a lot of the upcoming POTF album. Throughout the concert, the band is having some difficulties with
the equipment & guitars. Gary tells the crowd that they have to play on borrowed equipment, because their own
gear has gone AWOL and has probably ended up somewhere in Bumfuck, AZ. As a result, there are lengthy pauses
between the songs, which Zetro has to fill. I have to say, he does a great job of keeping the crowd going while
the rest of the band is busy tuning, changing strings, drums, etc. During the songs you can't really tell that they're
not playing their own gear. They sound as 'Exodus' as ever.
The sound of this recording is very good. Much better than your average '86 audience recording. In fact, it sounds
not unlike the Mercyful Fate - Montreal '84 show that I uploaded a while ago. Sometimes you could mistake the tape
for an FM recording....
Unfortunately, the taper was having some difficulties with his tape deck or mic jack plug. Sometimes (when he touches the
mic or jack plug?) there's a crackling sound in one of the channels. That's about the only flaw in this recording. I took
out most of the tape hiss using CoolEdit Pro. I'll upload an MP3 sample so you can get an idea of the sound quality.
